August 7, 2014 - Pittsfield – Greylock Federal Credit Union has donated $15,000 to the 6th annual WordXWord Festival and is again the event’s lead sponsor. The celebration of spoken word, poetry and storytelling takes place from August 17 - 23 in downtown Pittsfield in venues ranging from storefronts to stages and studios to street corners.

Greylock’s Victoria May, Assistant Vice President, Manager Marketing Promotions & Partnerships said, “We applaud the growth and success of WordXWord and the important dialogue it is bringing to our community. Greylock is pleased to be the lead sponsor of this event that has become a highly visible and important part of the area’s cultural scene.”

WordXWord was founded in 2009 by entrepreneur and creative thinker, Jim Benson. WordXWord celebrates the transformative power of words, and is committed to engaging diverse groups in cutting-edge, live performances as both audiences and participants. WordXWord also encourages the next generation of performers and writers through education and outreach. Since its beginning, over 100 artists/groups have participated in performances presented at over 20 venues.
