August 21, 2014 - PITTSFIELD – Greylock Federal Credit Union has partnered with The Nutrition Center to develop and print The Food Adventures Recipe Book. The book will be distributed to Pittsfield’s three Title I Schools – Crosby Elementary School, Silvio O. Conte Community Elementary School, and Morningside Community School.

Greylock’s Victoria May, Assistant Vice President, Manager Marketing Promotions & Partnerships said, “Greylock is pleased to partner with The Nutrition Center to develop this wonderful recipe book. It will bring school children information on how to improve their diets while helping them advance their reading skills.”

The three schools receiving the books have been designated Title I Schools by the Federal Government because they have high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families. Government financial assistance and services help ensure that all children in the Title I Schools meet challenging state academic standards.

Peter Stanton, Executive Director of The Nutrition Center said, “One of the greatest challenges school children face is getting healthy, well-balanced meals. Greylock’s generous donation of The Food Adventures Recipe Book will help to expand the impact of nutrition education. Kids learn the recipes in the classroom and then can bring those recipes home to share with their families.”
